Healthy Food and Supplements for Your Health

Generally, food is supposed to provide your body the nutrition it needs. However, with the marvel of modern agriculture, our soils are oftentimes abused, overused, and end up lacking essential minerals. Consequently, the fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown on these soils are also deficient in many vital nutrients and do not provide the required nutrition to the body. The escalating popularity of fast & cheap processed foods is another reason that has left many people struggling to get all important nutrients from their diet. As a result, health supplements, like muscle growth and bodybuilding supplements have significantly increased in popularity in Canada, & have turned into a multi-billion dollar industry. Researchers say that in a week, one out of five Canadians takes a nutritional supplement to meet their body’s nutritional needs.

Due to the huge availability of body building, muscle growth, and weight loss supplements in Canada find the right product can be overwhelming. There is a wide assortment of products on the shelf at almost every health food store, which can leave you confused as what to buy. In order to make the right choice for your body’s needs, it is important to understand that supplements aren’t a substitute for food. Instead, they are intended to supplement the food that you eat. Some important dietary supplements that can prove beneficial for almost everyone ate-

Multivitamins – There are several reasons why it is good to take multivitamin supplements. Especially, if you fail to meet your dietary recommendations due to poor appetite, less-than-healthy food choices, strict dieting, or some other reason; multivitamins can work wonders for you. As they contain all the vital vitamins and minerals, they benefit the body in a number of ways, such as by improving the bodily functions, promoting overall well-being, preventing vitamin deficiencies, reducing stress, etc.

Proteins – When taken with a balanced diet & a good fitness plan, protein supplements prove effective in losing weight, increasing lean muscle, & satisfying everyday nutritional needs of the body. Being the building block of muscles, protein is also essential for the growth and repair of muscles.

Healthy Fats – For years, doctors and nutritionists have preached us the benefits of a low-fat diet and how it helps lose weight, manage cholesterol, & prevent several health issues. But more than the quantity of fat, what matters is the type of fat that you eat. While bad fats put you at risk of many diseases, there are healthy fats that improve your overall health. The body needs healthy fats to build cell membranes; perform various functions in eyes, lungs, and brain; and protect the heart. There are many supplements that are a good source of healthy fats and help reduce cholesterol levels & risk of heart diseases.

Remember, good health can only be achieved with the right balance of a healthy diet and nutritional supplements to boost up that diet. So, before you go ahead to buy nutritional and dietary supplements, take a walk down the grocery aisle to get some fresh fruits and vegetables rich in fibre, antioxidants, and vitamins. There are several fruits that not only satisfy your taste buds, but also improve overall health in various ways. For instance, berries are effective in fighting cancer, apples offer fibre, oranges provide vitamin C, & so on. There are also greens, like broccoli, Chinese cabbage, etc., which are packed with magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium, calcium, & vitamin A, E, C, and K.

Important Life Lesson, Learned From Mother

Now that I’m older and a little wiser, I can’t help but think about all the encouragement, support and great advice my mom gave me that has helped me become a successful entrepreneur. Although my mother never started a company, she ran a tight ship for my siblings and me, and managed an extended family as well as any CEO I’ve ever known.

Here are some valuable lessons she taught me that have helped me succeed in business today.
The most important life lessons I learned from my mother

Watch Your Manners
Say please, write thank-you notes, and be polite. People notice and like being around you when you do these things, which is really important whether you’re hiring a new team member or selling your product or service.

Dress for Success
Look the part. See what the movers and shakers are wearing for clues and find a style that suits you. My mom was a fashion-design major in college so this came much easier to her than me, but you can never go wrong with a simple, classic style. When in doubt, err on the dressier, more professional side. You won’t regret it.

Do Your Homework
The best things in life are worth working hard for. There’s no substitution for paying your dues. You have to learn the basics before things get interesting, so learn as much as you can as fast as you can because when you become the best at something, that’s when the real fun begins.

Travel & Explore
Everyone in the world doesn’t do things the same way you do. Open your mind and see a situation from another perspective. Customs and norms are different in each culture, so understanding their history adds texture and perspective you may have never considered before. Seeing different habits and practices can make you think more creatively about your own needs.

Be Financially Independent
Understand your finances and use your brain to figure out how to make a living while also making a difference. Don’t spend money you don’t have. Get in the habit of saving a little bit from every paycheck.

Reward Yourself
All work and no play is not a sustainable long-term strategy, so always make sure you leave time for some fun in your life, too. Take vacations; save room for dessert–life is short so enjoy something in every day.

Look Out for Others
As the oldest kid, it was my responsibility to make sure my siblings were safe and accounted for at all times. As an entrepreneur, you have people to watch out for as well: your customers, employees, partners, advisers and other stakeholders. If you take care of them, they’ll watch your back, too.

Respect Your Elders
You may not like those who came before you but you must show respect to their position. You can learn something from everyone (both positive and negative), so listen to their stories and learn from their experience.

My mom died >5 years ago but she always told me I could be anything I put my mind to, and if that isn’t great advice for an entrepreneur, I’m not sure what is.  Happy to discuss further if you are interested.
